Skillwise Sports has been working with primary schools in Wigan since 2002 and developed an excellent reputation for its work with primary school children but particularly for its work with Foundation and KS1 pupils.

 

What we can offer

 

Fantasy Football is a programme specifically designed for foundation and KS1 and involves taking the children on an imaginary magical journey. While they are exploring the jungle, all the time with a ball at their feet, they learn and practice skills of ball control, balance, coordination and agility. This session comes with musical accompaniment to add to the atmosphere and creates a lesson that is musical, expressive and sporty all in one.

 We can tailor our stories to meet your context for learning, for example if you are doing a topic about the planets, we can make the journey about outer space and instead of dodging giant ants, the young explorers can dodge meteorite showers and our provision can help in your achievement of Every Child Matters, Sports Active and ArtsMark Awards

 

Our coaches are also trained to engage the pupils in practicing their literacy skills by encouraging them to come up with their own exciting adjectives to describe their magical environment!

 

Skillwise Sports  will bring Fantasy Football to your school for a full day and can work with 6 classes throughout the day

 

After School Clubs

 

Skillwise Sports Ltd can provide after school clubs in multi sports, football skills and rugby.

 

Skillwise Sports Ltd does not want children to be unable to participate in sport because of lack of funds and so in an attempt to be as inclusive as possible, our policy is to charge the school and hourly rate for an after school club. The school can then pass on an appropriate cost to the children and any money left over can be donated to the school fund.

Junior Clubs

 

Skillwise Sports Ltd has developed a reputation for excellence and creative coaching. We can provide a mentoring service to newly qualified coaches and can deliver guest coaching to clubs.

 

Guest Coaching

 

As children get older, their physical, technical, emotional and social abilities develop as does their understanding of the game. Very often a coach who has been with a team since they were 7 or 8 reaches a point when they recognise that the children need more from the coach than s/he can deliver and this is when smart coaches ring Skillwise Sports Ltd. We can inject some new energy into training sessions, help the coach develop some new coaching strategies and help the players develop their individual and collective skill.

 

Our team of expert coaches can help with planning sessions that are age appropriate, help the coach to understand the changing needs of his players and help the coach learn how to manage mistakes in ways which benefit the individual and the team.
